Free projects for kids at Home Depot stores

Free hands-on projects for youngsters are offered the first Saturday of the month at participating Home Depot stores. Register on the Home Depot website. Participants receive a Kids Workshop apron and keep their projects. The activities are designed for youngsters ages 5 to 12.


Farmer’s Market in Atlantic Beach

Spend your happy hour stocking up on fresh produce.  You’ll find great deals on just-picked victuals at the Mid-Week Farmer’s Market, every Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. in Atlantic Beach.  The vendors sell their wares at Bull Park, between Ocean Boulevard and East Coast Drive.


Riverside Farmer’s Market Open

Riverside Arts Market reopens in March, but in the meantime you can shop for fresh, local, well-priced produce and other goodies at the Farmer’s Market at RAM (FRAM) Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. It all takes place under the Fuller Warren Bridge on Riverside Avenue.

Catch the MLK Day Parade

The commemoration of Martin Luther King always brings a great parade to downtown Jacksonville.  If you’re looking for a meaningful, free diversion this morning, the parade begins at 10 a.m. at Jefferson and Water Streets and winds toward Everbank Field.  Here’s parade route info if you’re going.


Shop for the Holidays at RAM

Riverside Arts Market is will close out the 2012 season with plenty of holiday shopping on the river.  Come out to the plaza under the Fuller Warren Bridge at 10 a.m. for live entertainment, crafts, artists, gourmet packaged foods and onsite refreshments. Definitely make it a point to stop at the food court. The free fun goes on from until 4 p.m.
