The Orange Park Art Festival will take place February 9-10 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days, with free admission and free parking. Dozens of artists and craftspeople will be showing and selling their wares at the juried show, plus food vendors and performing musicians will be on hand. The event takes place at the corner of Wells Road and Blanding Blvd. in an open parking area of the Orange Park Mall.
Actress Jane Seymour will be in town this weekend promoting both her artwork and her children’s books. See the former “Dr. Quinn”, along with her paintings, at Avondale Artworks from 1 to 3 p.m. and again from 6 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, October 6. Then on Sunday at 1 p.m., Seymore will be appearing at The Bookmark in Neptune Beach signing copies of her book Open Hearts Family. All events are free.
Head to San Marco tonight for the Affair in the Square, a free monthly neighborhood fete that includes live performances outdoors, happy hour specials and wine tastings at restaurants and bistros, sales and extended shopping hours at San Marco shops and art exhibits. You can stroll around from 6 to 9 p.m. to sample the fun. Affair in the Square happens the third Thursday of every month.
Children’s book author and nature artist Rick Cannizzaro will be signing his book Ludi the Loggerhead Turtle tonight at First Street Gallery in Neptune Beach from 7 to 9 p.m. Also appearing is Frank Gromling, publisher at Ocean Publishing, signing his book Tracks in the Sand: Sea Turtles and their Protectors. The appearances are part of the gallery’s 9th annual Sea Turtle Show, with sea turtle-related art in all media and a portion of sales benefiting the Beaches Sea Turtle Patrol.
